Natural Disaster Resilience Program Commences

The new funding programs which were announced late last year are as set our below.

The NEVSF will be terminated after the 2009/10 FY.

The funding previously available under the NEVSF has been rolled into a new program entitled the Natural Disaster Resilience Program (NDRP), which will be primarily managed by the States and Territories under a “National Partnership Agreement” (NPA). The outcomes are:

Reduced risk from the impact of disasters.
Appropriate emergency management capability and capacity, consistent with State and Territory risk profiles: and
Support for volunteers.

Exactly how the volunteer element of the program will be managed will be determined by each State and Territory. You will need to contact your State Emergency Management Office for details of exactly how the program will be managed in your State/Territory.

More details are available at www.ema.gov.au/ndrp
